Glasair lets you buy their Kit and participate in the build process in their Customer Assembly Center ("CAC") and in two weeks build your own plane. In the two weeks to Taxi program. I love days like this.

I got up this morning and it was a beautiful winter day. The sun was out and the air was calm seemed like the perfect day to head to Pass Lake and get some fishing in. I arrived at the lake around 9am and had the place to myself for the first hour and a half. I was fishing a green sparkle bugger and having no luck so I switched to a large black Zuddler cone head. That seemed to be the ticket on my second cast to the bank I hooked something large and it took me strait to the bottom and seemed to wrap me on a log or branch. I gave the fish some line and some patience and it came unwrapped after another 5 min. I had a 19in brown to hand

A half hour and 30 casts later further down the bank my fly gets hammered again. This time the fish just wants to run and puts up on hell of a fight after a couple good runs I bring a 21in brown to the net.

What a day this is shaping up to be great sunshine no wind and to nice browns caught. The brown fishing ended here no more browns today but I did manage two nice rainbows.

I love days like this throwing big meaty streamers for big fish. What a day.

These are some random pictures of American River Guard Station and a view from one of the many fire lookouts available for rent.
Cabin rental fees avarage between $50 and $60 per night you can get all the information and locations at http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/recreation/rentals/ have a great time and drop FLY LIFE a report on your trip.

A one two punch that’s hard to beat.

My office is located right across the street from Seabear wild salmon in Anacortes WA. They stock FISH TALE ORGANIC ALES. It is a blessing and a curse as FISH TALE is a Quality brewed and exceptional tasting line of ales and Seabear smoked salmon is a delight to the taste buds and the combination of the two is almost irresistible even more so when its 20 paces away. Give FISHTALE ORGANIC ALES a try and check out Seabear’s wild Salmon for some great seafood options from the Pacific Northwest.

New Years Day Search For Steel.

It is my tradition to head out the morning of New Years day to try my luck on a local river. I enjoy this particular day as it is less crowded. Most of the other fisherman are home watching football or recovering from partaking in to many spirits the night before. I normally spend the day alone but this year my brother Jason decided to forgo football for the day and chase some steel. We were to meet at 7am and head out. I woke up when Jason called me to ask were I was so needless to say I was an hour late. The river we fished had changed dramatically from the floods we had here in western Washington last month.
